MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The man charged with killing one Minnesota lawmaker and wounding another in what prosecutors have described as a meticulously planned attack, had dozens of apparent targets, including officials in at least three other states.
Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, survived a targeted shooting at their home in Champlin, sustaining multiple bullet wounds each. Yvette shielded their daughter during the attack.
Police first responded to a call of a shooting at Hoffman's home in Champlin at around 2 a.m. Saturday, Drew Evans, the superintendent of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, said in the briefing.
