An armed man believed to be traveling from Indiana was shot near the White House by U.S. Secret Service agents after a confrontation early Sunday.

An Indiana man was shot by members of the U.S. Secret Service on Sunday, according to a release from the Secret Service.

The suspect was taken to an area hospital and his condition is not immediately available, officials said. No other injuries were reported.
