The Lebanese Hezbollah group has announced that the funeral of its longtime leader will take place on Feb. 23.

Hassan Nasrallah received a temporary burial as hostilities with Israel did not allow for a funeral to take place.

The head of Lebanon's armed group Hezbollah said on Sunday that his predecessor, Hassan Nasrallah, would be laid to rest on Feb. 23, nearly five months after he was killed in an Israeli air attack on Beirut's southern suburbs.

In a televised speech via Al-Manar TV, Sheikh Qassem announced that the official funeral for the greatest martyrs Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, will take place on Sunday, February 23, 2025. He explained that Sayyed Nasrallah was martyred during critical circumstances, which prevented an immediate funeral.

Gaza Hezbollah's former leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli air strike in September, will be buried in Beirut's southern suburbs, a traditional heartland for the group, its new secretary general has confirmed.
