French President Emmanuel Macron has rejected the idea proposed by US President Donald Trump that the war criminal and Russian leader Vladimir Putin should be involved in mediation efforts between Israel and Iran.

Russian President Vladimir Putin held phone calls with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Friday after Israel pelted Iran with a series of strikes.

The Israel-Iran conflict, sparked by Israel’s June 13 airstrikes, has escalated into deadly missile exchanges. Iran hit major Israeli cities, while Israel claims air dominance and strikes deeper into Iran.
