U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is revoking the security clearance and personal security detail for retired Army General and former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, a Pentagon spokesperson said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Pentagon has asked its inspector general to review the record and behavior of Gen. Mark A. Milley, the retired chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who stood up to President Trump in his first term.

The portraits of former Defense Secretary Mark Esper and retired Army Gen. Mark Milley, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, were removed from the Pentagon after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth revoked Milley’s personal security detail and security clearance.
