With the NHL trade deadline set to hit on Friday, the Leafs are looking to bolster their centre depth. According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, it appears that one of the options they are considering is Schenn, who currently has 12 goals and 37 points in 61 games this season.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have identified St. Louis Blues captain Brayden Schenn as their "primary target" ahead of the March 7 NHL trade deadline. According to The Athletic’s Chris Johnston and Jonas Siegel, reporting on Wednesday, Toronto is prioritizing Schenn despite also needing help at center and on defense.

There are reasons to think Schenn would be a good fit with Toronto, but is he the best fit ahead of next week's trade deadline? Maybe not.
