By Laurie Chen and Andy Bruce BEIJING (Reuters) -British finance minister Rachel Reeves said on Saturday during a visit to Beijing that she intended to have "pragmatic" relations with Chinese leaders to boost exports to the world's second-largest economy.

China has renewed a trade-in subsidy of up to 20,000 yuan ($2,730) to help underpin sales of fuel-efficient vehicles, including electric cars and hybrids.

The move comes as Beijing intensifies efforts to convince cautious households to spend as rising external uncertainties threaten exports’ ability to prop up economic growth.
