Brian Schottenheimer has made a high-profile addition to his Cowboys staff, bringing in ex-Bears head coach Matt Eberflus to be the team's new DC.
The Cowboys hired former Chicago Bears coach Matt Eberflus as defensive coordinator Tuesday for his second stint on the Dallas staff.
Eberflus is set to interview with Dallas for the DC gig today, and NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports that meeting is expected to result in a hire. Provided that proves to be the case, this will mark a return to the Cowboys for Eberflus. He worked as the team’s linebackers coach from 2012-17.
In addition to Eberflus, the Cowboys hired former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Nick Sorensen as special teams coordinator, replacing John Fassel, who joined the Tennessee Titans after his contract expired. Sorensen previously worked with Schottenheimer in Seattle and Jacksonville.
