Iran’s judiciary says at least 71 people were killed in Israel’s attack Monday on Tehran’s Evin prison, a notorious facility where many political activists have been held.

BEIRUT (AP) — Sayeh Seydal, a jailed Iranian dissident, narrowly escaped death when Israeli missiles struck Tehran’s Evin Prison, where she was held. She had just stepped out of the prison’s clinic moments before it was destroyed.

The notorious detention facility in Tehran, where dissidents and political prisoners are held, came under attack on June 23.
