Some acne treatments from brands including Walgreens, Proactiv and La-Roche Posay have been voluntarily recalled for containing elevated levels of the carcinogen benzene, the Food and Drug Administration announced Tuesday.

The Food and Drug Administration is asking retailers to remove a small number of acne creams from their shelves that contain slightly elevated levels of a chemical linked to cancer.

Several major skin care brands like L’Oréal Paris and Proactiv issued a recall of their products due to elevated levels of benzene contamination.
