The legal battle over President Trump's deployment of the California National Guard in Los Angeles will continue Tuesday in a federal appeals court in San Francisco.A judge ruled the move was illegal but the case was put on hold until it can go before an appeals court on Tuesday.

I can’t believe I’m the only one who finds it ironic that President Donald Trump quickly deployed the California National Guard, citing violence in Los Angeles, but failed to activate the Guard when so many asked him for help during the Jan. 6 insurrection, (“ California will sue Trump over sending National Guard to L.A. protests, ” June 9).

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals temporarily blocked a judge's order, which was to go into effect on Friday.
