Japan has approved additional sanctions against Russia over its war on Ukraine, including freezing the assets of dozens of individuals and groups and banning exports to dozens of organizations in Russia and several other countries that have allegedly helped it evade sanctions.
Japan expands its sanctions against Russia
Japan will also ban the export of 335 more goods, including small motorcycles and components for special-purpose vehicles such as cranes, to Russia starting on Jan. 23. The aim is to strengthen Japan's response to North Korea's support for Russia and Moscow's use of third countries to evade sanctions.

The Japanese government has imposed additional sanctions against Russia. The list includes not only companies and citizens of Russia but also of other countries, according to Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy.
Japan targets Russian banks in major sanctions update
Japan announced new sanctions against 11 individuals, 3 banks, and 29 companies from Russia. The sanctions also include export restrictions for 22 Russian organizations and 335 products. The sanctions are scheduled to be implemented on January 23.
