Serbia's student-led protests against President Aleksandar Vučić gathered more steam on Saturday, as professors joined those who are demanding justice for the collapse of the canopy of the Novi Sad train station that killed 15 people last November.

The uprising of tens of thousands of young Serbs outraged at corruption and civil liberties violations is a growing challenge to Aleksandar Vučić's government.

The demonstration, one of the biggest in years, is part of wider protests that have taken place across the country after a concrete canopy collapsed at Novi Sad railway station last November, killing 15 people.

The complainants claim that Vučić previously encouraged motorists to drive through crowds of protesting students.
