Two retail chains — Kohl’s and Macy’s — have confirmed they will be closing stores across the country. Two of those locations are in Chester County — the Kohl’s at The Shoppes at Coventry and the Macy’s at Exton Square Mall.

Kohl’s confirmed their upcoming closure of 27 underperforming stores. None of the closed Kohl’s stores are in Northern California. The closest one is in Sacramento, at 1896 Arden Way. Kohl's also announced the closure of its San Bernardino e-commerce fulfillment center in May of 2025.

Macy’s and Kohl’s are closing one store each in Colorado as part of the department store chains’ plans to dump underperforming stores this year. Macy’s released a list Thursday of 66 closures that includes the store at the Northfield Stapleton shopping center in Denver.
