Mexico booked their ticket to the Quarterfinals after defeating Suriname by a 2-0 score. Mexico got the victory that got them the 3 points to go thru to the Quarterfinals and also the goals that got them to first place in Group A.

Concacaf Gold Cup continued on Wednesday with defending champions Mexico beating Suriname 2-0 in Group A action at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Cesar Montes had two goals in the second half against Suriname to clinch the win.

Defender Cesar Montes scored twice in a six-minute span in the second half and defending champion Mexico struggled early but managed to get past Suriname 2-0 to secure a spot in the knockout round of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
