Notre Dame has landed yet another big time defensive back with the Irish landing a commitment from Philadelphia (Pa.) LaSalle College star Joey O'Brien. A top target for Notre Dame for almost two years, O'Brien picked Notre Dame over Clemson, Oregon and Penn State among many others.

O’Brien is Notre Dame’s first five-star pledge in the class of 2026. He plans to enroll early in January and looks to play both wide receiver and defensive back for the Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame cornerback commitment Khary Adams could be joined as soon as Friday evening by safety Joey O’Brien of suburban Philadelphia.
