The latest atmospheric river arrived on Wednesday in the Bay Area with damaging winds bringing down trees, the threat of thunderstorms, and possible snow in the highest peaks.The storm which began sweeping over the North Bay in the morning was sliding south throughout the afternoon and evening.

Rain pelted the Bay Area again Friday morning as the most intense part of the second wave in a storm pattern whipped its way onto shore accompanied by cold, gusty winds similar to those that blew during the first round.

Strong winds and rain from the atmospheric river storm hitting the Bay Area caused thousands of PG&E customers to lose power on Wednesday, the utility said.
