After steamrolling Honduras in their tournament opener with a commanding 6-0 win, the Canadians find themselves comfortably perched at the top of Group B, two points ahead of "La Pantera Azul," who settled for a 0-0 draw with El Salvador.

Jeremy Antonisse scored on a breakaway in second-half stoppage time and Curaçao tied Canada 1-1 on Saturday night to remain in contention to advance to the knockout stage of the CONCACAF Gold Cup. Nathan Saliba put Canada ahead in the ninth minute from inside the penalty area.

This is Curacao’s first run in the Gold Cup since their quarterfinal appearance in 2019. They withdrew from the 2021 tournament, but did not qualify two years ago. Like El Salvador, Curacao qualified for the Gold Cup by winning their group in Division B in the Nations League.
