Astronomers are using the James Webb telescope to study an asteroid that has a small chance of hitting Earth in 2032.

Astronomers will use the Webb telescope to closely monitor the size and trajectory of an asteroid that has a slim chance of hitting Earth in 2032.

NASA stated that there is currently a 2.3 per cent (or 1 in 43) chance that the asteroid will hit Earth on December 22, 2032.
