Cody Posey (born October 9, 1989) is a New Mexico teenager who confessed to killing his father, stepmother, and stepsister on July 4, 2004; when he was 14 years old. Posey was found guilty of various degrees of homicide.

It was July 5th, 2004, a hot summer day in Hondo, New Mexico. Cody lived on a ranch (owned by famous journalist and news anchor, Sam Donaldson) with his father, Delbert "Paul" Posey (34), his stepmother, Tryone Posey (44), and his stepsister, Marilea Schmid (13).

Dec 29, 2022 · The jury came back to find Cody guilty of first-degree murder in the case of Marilea, second-degree murder in the case of Tryone, and voluntary manslaughter in the case of Paul. Cody and the family members who had stood by him fell apart into tears.
