Jan 8, 2013 · It is difficult to establish, conclusively, but it appears that the vast majority of MiniDV tape brands use a 'dry' type lubricant, and only Sony who insist on using a 'wet' type. If this is true, it is highly likely that both JVC and Fuji use 'dry' type lubricants and so, in theory at least, you should not encounter problems of this sort by mixing tapes from these two manufacturers.
